168-MW solar project completed in northeast Texas

Work has begun at the 168 MW Coniglio Solar Project in Fannin County, Texas.

The Coniglio project includes 404,712 Q.PEAK DUO L-G8.2 415W solar panels, supplied by Q CELLS America and 42 inverters. Interconnected in the North ERCOT loading zone, the facility is the largest project in Q CELLS’ operational portfolio to date in the US

The project was acquired midway through development in February 2020 and the Q CELLS team completed work on financing, interconnection, land, revenue contracts, engineering and procurement. Construction on the project began in June 2020 and mechanical completion was achieved in June 2021.

“The Coniglio Solar Project is well-located and there is a growing need for power in the ERCOT market,” said Dave Kirkwood, senior VP of Finance at Tenaska.
