City Electric Supply to acquire solar distributor Soligent

The solar equipment distributor will be acquired by electrical wholesale distributor City Electric Supply Company (CES) by the end of this month, subject to regulatory and other approvals and conditions.

“This agreement allows us to focus on delivering even more innovative solutions to the solar energy market,” said Jonathan Doochin, CEO of Soligent. “We value the entrepreneurial culture of the CES team and we are confident they will provide the right environment for our talented team to accelerate our vision to positively impact the world through renewable energy.”

Upon completion of the transaction, Soligent will become a subsidiary of CES. Soligent will lead the Renewables division of CES and work closely with its extensive branch and distribution network to provide a wide variety of solar products. This will further accelerate growth rates above 50% to date.

“We are committed to providing access to renewable energy equipment and know that Soligent shares our passion for providing customers with the best experiences,” said Thomas Hartland-Mackie, CES’s President and CEO. “We are excited to partner and advance our shared goal of bringing sustainable options to our communities through our combined expertise and experience in residential and commercial solar.”

Hartland-Mackie added, “We are eager to explore untapped opportunities and leverage our complementary businesses to bring exciting new offerings to customers.”
