Designing for Tomorrow on the Living Architecture Academy — Living Architecture Monitor

Green Roofs for Healthy Cities, the trade association for professionals in the green roof and facade industry, has a new online offer on the Academy of living architecture. The recent Gray to Green Virtual 2021 is now for sale.

The virtual event delved into the role green infrastructure plays in the recovery after COVID-19 and inspired design ideas that bring together resilience, public health and support collective wellbeing. Gray to Green aims to inform current policy debates in favor of rapid, significant investments in green infrastructure. Now the recorded event can be found on the Living Architecture Academy and is approved for 12.5 APLD CEUs, 13 ASLA CEUs, 13.5 AIA CEUs and 13.5 GRP CEUs. OAA credits are available pending individual approval. With our Summer Sale, the entire conference recording can be purchased as a 50% discount bundle (normally $149). Day 1 and Day 2 of the event are also available for purchase at a 50% discount (normally $99 each). The summer sale is available from now until August 31 for all actions at the Living Architecture Academy.

Featured speakers, panels, and topics include:

  • Nadina Galle on the internet of nature and how we can bridge ecology and technology in an era when sustainable urban development needs effective ways to enhance their green spaces

  • Cynthia Pohl on building an ecosystem over the course of a decade on a built-in, biodiverse green roof, installation engineering considerations and what has been done to keep this green roof rich in biodiversity and low maintenance

  • Max Meighen on opportunities for developing a circular economy when green roofs are combined with other on-site commercial activities

  • Tony DiGiovanni and Mark Cullen on the Highway of Heroes and the many factors involved in raising nearly $10 million to plant 2 million trees in recognition of those who sacrificed their lives for our country

  • And much more!

This proceeding is a great opportunity for businesses, policy advocates, educators to collaborate and grow a dynamic green infrastructure ecosystem so we can build sustainable and resilient spaces. As we begin to recover from the COVID-10 pandemic, there is an unprecedented opportunity to shift investment towards infrastructure that will benefit our communities, the economy, the labor market, the climate and ourselves. This shift in investment is happening worldwide and it is time for us to make the leap into this space.
