Fond du Lac veteran honored, receives new roof for his home

FOND DU LAC (NBC 26) – Scott Theisen, a US Marine Corps veteran, received a new roof for his Fond du Lac home on Thursday from Security-Luebke Roofing, an Owens Corning Platinum Roofing Contractor, as part of the Owens Corning Roof Implementation Project.

Through a partnership with Purple Heart Homes, Theisen was selected and approved as a recipient for the roof replacement.

“Based on the 8 to 10 responses we received specifically about (Theisen) from friends and family, we felt he deserved his new roof,” said Todd Murphy, vice president of Leubke Roofing, Security. Based on how he serves the community, how he has served our country. Most people said he would give you the shirt off his back. ‘

Theisen served in the Marines in the mid-1980s, and now he serves those in need by taking them to doctor’s appointments, Murphy said, adding “it looks like (Theisen) has a servant heart.”

The Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project is a nationwide effort to show gratitude and honor the veterans who have served the United States and the families who support them. Since the start of this program in 2016, more than 250 military personnel have been given new roofs.

“We love to give back to the community at large,” said Murphy. “This is one that all of our employees look forward to. We have people in the office evaluating the responses we get and the requests we get from people who need a roof. Veterans who need a roof. is something we look forward to every year. “
