OMCO Solar ships 1 GW of solar racking products within a year
OMCO Solar has shipped 1 GW of its factory-oriented products in the past year installed in 30 states, delivering clean solar power to farms, schools, factories, municipalities and utilities. With 8 GW of previous contract production of solar products, OMCO Solar has now delivered more than 9 GW to the market.
OMCO Solar is a manufacturer of solar racking and tracker solutions for community, commercial, industrial and utility projects, and its experience stems from decades of steelmaking, beginning in 1955 when OMCO Holdings was founded. OMCO Solar introduced its first patented mounting product, the Field-Fast fixed-tilt rack system, in 2017, followed by the launch of its Choice direct-bolt mounting system and OMCO ORIGIN factory-oriented, single-axis tracker system in 2019.
OMCO Solar has increased its annual production capacity to over 3 GW with a nationwide footprint and products are shipped directly from four locations in the US.
“With more than 12 years as a contract manufacturer of scaffolding and our long history of steelmaking, we knew we had the expertise, capacity and scalability to enter the direct selling market and offer our own products,” Gary Schuster, president and CEO of OMCO Holdings said. “Today we are proud to offer our OMCO Solar products, which are primarily manufactured in our four plants, here in the US. With our manufacturing footprint in the US and highly skilled workforce, we can provide the highest quality products and shortest lead times in the industry. Even with the challenges of 2020, we were excited to see our footprint grow, and we are grateful to our partners for their role in helping us maintain the momentum.”
In Florida, OMCO Solar partners with moss solar to complete six large-scale projects totaling more than 600 MW. When completed, it will be the largest fixed-tilt portfolio in the company’s history, and one of the largest in the US
“Our experience working with OMCO Solar and installing its solutions gives us confidence that we will continue to benefit from a strong relationship as these projects are commissioned and powered,” said Edwin Perkins, president of Moss Solar . “OMCO Solar products are easy to assemble and install and are backed by a strong customer service team.”
After the growth in 2020, OMCO Solar will continue to invest in its engineering team. The company’s integrated team – which includes product development, sales, engineering, manufacturing, logistics and field service – aims to provide a one-stop shop for its product solutions.
“As demand for solar energy increases, OMCO Solar’s growth indicates it will continue to be a strong player in the PV tracker market,” said Sagar Chopra, research analyst, energy and renewables at Wood Mackenzie.
